June Hunt and Hope For The Heart Celebrates 30th Anniversary

June Hunt and Hope For The Heart Celebrates 30th Anniversary

by Presenting the “Hope for the Future” Award at NRB Convention

JuneHunt-300_0037-Gittings_cmykIn celebration of Hope For The Heart’s 30th Anniversary, June Hunt will present the first of many, Hope for the Heart – Hope for the Future – awards at this years’ NRB Convention.  Ms. Hunt, whose life’s work has yielded landmark contributions in the field of biblical counseling and practical guidance, founded the organization in 1986.

Hope For The Heart’s resources provide “God’s Truth for Today’s Problems” to equip pastors and spiritual leaders, licensed professional counselors, caregivers and caring individuals with “biblical hope and practical help.” After years of teaching and research, Hunt developed 100 topical “Biblical Counseling Keys” – exploring definitions, characteristics, causes and steps to solution for topics ranging from Anger and Depression to Marriage and Parenting. These “Keys” have become the foundation for the ministry’s expansion, including the “Biblical Counseling Institute” and two popular radio programs: Hope In The Night,” Hunt’s live two-hour call-in counseling program, and Hope For The Heart,” which airs on nearly 900 radio outlets around the world.  Hope For The Heart is quickly expanding internationally with resources translated into 30 languages, touching six continents, and are used in 60 countries with various formats including print, audio, and video.

“As Christian communicators, if we want to impact our culture for Christ – whether it be now or in the future — we must be real and we must be relevant. Technology is certainly changing how we communicate … in real and relevant ways. This years’ Hope For The Future award will recognize extraordinary talent, expertise, and leadership in the field of technology — which enables all of us in broadcasting to have an even farther reaching impact in a world that desperately needs biblical hope and practical help,” shares Ms. Hunt.

The Hope For The Future award will be presented at NRB’s Wednesday evening Worship Service, held at 7:00 p.m. in the Delta A Ballroom.

Brent Bozell to Shed Light on Media, Gov’t Silence on “Christian Genocide”

Brent BozellNashville, TN – ISIS and other Islamic terrorists are persecuting and executing Christians, destroying church buildings, and driving believers out of the Middle East.

But why do we hear so little from mainstream media about the persecution of Christians while they highlight violence against other groups?

During Proclaim 16, the NRB International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN, a session titled “Christian Genocide” will be held on Thursday, February 25, highlighting the issue and the media silence on it. Convention attendees will hear firsthand stories of what has happened, and why. They will also find out how they can pray, how they can speak up, and how they can stand up for the persecuted Church.

Among the session speakers will be Brent Bozell, Founder and President of the Media Research Center, who will expose the media and government silence on this issue.

“The Obama Administration has so far failed to recognize the barbaric attacks of ISIS against Christians as acts of genocide. Furthermore, the mainstream media has too often looked the other way,” noted NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “We are glad to have Brent Bozell join us for our session on this issue, and look forward to receiving his insights.”

A lecturer, syndicated columnist, television commentator, debater, marketer, businessman, author, publisher, and activist, L. Brent Bozell, III is one of the most outspoken and effective national leaders in the conservative movement today.

As Founder and President of the Media Research Center, Bozell runs the largest media watchdog organization in America. Since its launch in 1987, the MRC has developed the largest video archive in the world; the popular NewsBusters.org blog site; the CNSNews.com Internet news service; MRC Business; MRC Culture; and MRC Latino, which launched in April 2014. The MRC has more than 800,000 members nationwide, and more than 9 million fans on Facebook.

Jordan Smith to Perform at Opening Session of Proclaim 16

Jordan SmithNashville, TN –  Jordan Smith is scheduled to perform on Tuesday, February 23, at the Opening Session of Proclaim 16, the NRB International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN.

“We are excited to have Jordan Smith join us for Proclaim 16 following his phenomenal success on and after The Voice,” commented NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “Convention participants will be in for a treat!”

Jordan Smith stands out as the highest-selling artist to ever emerge from NBC’s EMMY AWARD®-winning The Voice. In less than six months, the 22-year-old from Whitley County, KY, sold more than one million singles and made Voice history by landing four songs in the Top 10 — the most of any artist from the show.

Meanwhile, eight of his songs went Top 10, six hit Top 3, and three captured #1 on all of iTunes. He is one of only two artists, alongside Cassadee Pope, to notch three #1’s during the show’s season.

Smith released a full-length album, Jordan Smith: The Complete Season 9 Collection, on iTunes one day after his win. Overnight, the album skyrocketed to the Top 5 on the iTunes Overall Album Chart and debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart at #11.  His take on Queen’s “Somebody To Love” unseated Adele’s “Hello” from #1 on iTunes Overall Top Songs chart in a matter of hours, moving 164,000+ copies the first week and clinching #1 on the Billboard Digital Songs Chart. The following week his performance of “Mary Did You Know” also shot up to the #1 spot on iTunes and topped SoundScan’s Digital Songs Chart at #1, selling 161,000 copies in the first week.

“Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and “Hallelujah” went #1 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs Chart, and he became “the first artist to replace himself at #1 on the chart.”  Jordan also holds the record on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs Chart for “the first act to own both the #1 and #2 titles concurrently” with “Mary Did You Know” and “Hallelujah.”
