Governor Scott Walker to Speak at NRB15 Int’l Christian Media Convention

Scott WalkerNashville, TN – Governor Scott Walker is scheduled to speak the evening of Monday, February 23, at the opening session of the NRB 2015 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN.

“Governor Walker is a man of faith and action,” noted Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, President & CEO of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB). “He is a voice for freedom and has shown that he is not afraid to put principles into practice. We are honored that he will be with us for the opening of NRB15.”

Governor Walker became Wisconsin’s 45th Governor in January 2011.  Following his inauguration, he proposed reforms that eliminated the state’s $3.6 billion budget deficit without raising taxes and gave school districts and local governments the tools to balance their budgets. He also sought to cut taxes and grow jobs.  Notably, in an annual survey by the state’s chamber of commerce, 95 percent said Wisconsin is headed in the right direction, and Chief Executive Magazine‘s ranking of the best state for business moved Wisconsin up from 41st in 2010 to 14th in 2014.

Governor Walker grew up as the son of a pastor in the small Wisconsin town of Delavan. He is married to Tonette and they have two sons in college – Matt and Alex. They are active members of their church in Wauwatosa and remain involved with numerous charitable programs.

“Alistair Begg has a gift for teaching the Word and building the Church,” commented NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “We are delighted for him to share his zeal for the Gospel with our attendees at NRB15.”

Alistair Begg is the senior minister of Parkside Church in suburban Cleveland, OH, where he has served since 1983. Following graduation from the London School of Theology, he served for two years as assistant to the Rev. Derek J. Prime, and in 1976 was ordained to the Gospel ministry at Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh. He has received honorary doctorates from Westminster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania and Cedarville University in Ohio.

Begg enjoys the privilege of leading the Parkside pastoral team and seeing a succession of young men settled in pulpits throughout the country. His teaching is heard daily across the nation on more than 1,600 radio stations that air the program, Truth For Life. Mariam Ibraheem to Speak, Receive NRB President’s Award at NRB15 Convention

Mariam IbraheemNashville, TN – Mariam Ibraheem, whose incarceration in Sudan was widely publicized last year, will be a special guest at the Hope For The Heart Women’s Breakfast that will take place Wednesday, February 25, during the NRB 2015 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN.

In addition, NRB will honor Ibraheem with the NRB President’s Award later that same day during the Worship Service.

“Mariam Ibraheem is a modern-day example of what it means to not be ashamed of Christ,” noted NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “We are honored to welcome her to NRB15 as we rejoice with her over God’s protective care in her life.”

Prosecuted by her government for crimes of apostasy and adultery because she married an American Christian man, Ibraheem underwent tremendous physical and emotional strain, including being sentenced to receive 100 lashes, raising her first child in prison, giving birth to her second child while in chains, and being denied medical treatment.

Because of her alleged crimes against the state, she was sentenced to death on May 15, 2014, unless she recanted her Christian faith. She refused, citing the fact that Christianity had been the faith in which she grew up. Ibraheem’s husband, Daniel Wani, made appeals to the courts on her behalf, and she was eventually released on June 24, 2014. Immediately, she attempted to flee the country, but was arrested at the airport. Two days later, as the result of the efforts of Sudanese legal defense and tremendous international pressure, she was released to the American Embassy and was allowed to leave Sudan.

At the Hope for the Heart Women’s Breakfast, Ibraheem will be joined by June Hunt, CSO & Founder of Hope For The Heart, and Syndicated Talk Show Host Janet Parshall. Tickets to the breakfast are available for purchase at NRBConvention.org.

Later in the day, during the Worship Service, Ibraheem will be presented with the NRB President’s Award. The service, which is open to the public and does not require registration, will feature powerful preaching from Alistair Begg, Bible Teacher of Truth For Life, and Dr. Ronnie Floyd, President of the Southern Baptist Convention. Leading worship will be award-winning musical group Selah.

Details for these and other events are available at NRBConvention.org.

Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters Move to ProTrack

Northampton, MA January 7, 2015 – Myers, a respected developer in broadcast management software, is pleased to announce that Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters (AIB) have selected Myers’ ProTrack to manage its content metadata and associated distribution workflows for its broadcast operations. AIB is the largest regional interfaith television network in the United States.

Prior to transitioning to ProTrack, AIB was managing many responsibilities within their broadcast operations independently – which made it challenging and labor-intensive for them to provide metadata to the various departments and systems along their dynamic distribution chain. In addition, they recently began efforts to monetize their program schedules which placed further demands for timely information to successfully capitalize on revenue generating opportunities. With these productivity challenges, AIB set out to implement a centralized software solution that would efficiently manage their independent and inter-dependent workflows associated with scheduling, monetizing, and trafficking broadcast schedules. Furthermore, the solution would need to seamlessly interface with their existing automation system and provide the required proof of performance invoices for their advertising partners. After an extensive search, they decided on the Myers ProTrack solution.

“Not only did ProTrack provide a robust feature set to manage our entire broadcast operations, their solution was able to seamlessly integrate to our existing PlayBox automation system which enabled us to preserve this investment.” said Mark McGraw, Director of Network Operations, AIB. “We’re now able to manage our operations with one system which has vastly improved transparency and the delivery of time-sensitive metadata to those who need it, when they need it. We set out to implement a whole new level of operational efficiency and found it with ProTrack!”

“We are very excited that Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters has selected ProTrack to manage and support their broadcast operations. For nearly 30 years, Myers has implemented ProTrack at multi-media facilities, large and small, to improve operational efficiency and transparency,” said Crist Myers, CEO and President, Myers. “At the end of the day, operational efficiency not only saves a lot of money, it keeps employees focused on the future and ensures actionable insight is served up at the right time so teams can capitalize on it. We look forward to a long and productive partnership with AIB!”

In addition, AIB also installed ProTrack’s ProWeb module which provides a responsive, interactive and user-friendly schedule environment to their website so viewers have real-time access to AIB’s broadcast schedules and program information.

AIB contracted Comprehensive Technical Group (CTG) to perform the role of Systems Integrator on their behalf.
